RIP Steve Jobs

On October 5, 2011 Steve Jobs' family, in a statement, said Jobs "died peacefully today surrounded by his family . . ."

Godspeed, Steve.

Jobs is survived by his wife, Laurene, to whom he was married for 20 years, their three children, and a fourth child, Lisa Brennan-Jobs, from a previous relationship.

I really hate ads that take over a page when you mouse over them especially those that has sounds or video. It really is quite irritating, more so because I didn't really want to click on it. I was moving my mouse to and fro while I read and my cursor made contact with the ad in question.

Result? Instant interruption. There goes my reading experience.

It really is quite surprising especially for a company that used to have Seth Godin working for them.

The Jac Liner bus company is marketing themselves as the Philippine's first bus line offering free wi-fi.

In this day and age where connectivity is fast becoming more and more a necessity, a bus line with free wi-fi is certainly a very attractive prospect.

I wonder how fast the connection is and what's their technical setup?

Mobile Consumers Rising

People are using their mobile phones more and more for entertainment and to access their social networks.

Ringtones and logos are no longer considered fashionable and downloads have declined. MMS was supposed to be the next big thing but it seems that pictures, videos, and music are easier to access and share with a bigger number of people via social networks compared to just sending it via mobile (not to mention it's going to put a big dent on your load).

Bautista attributed the decline in MMS —which was once thought to be the next big thing in mobile communications after SMS— to the rise of social media, which are becoming increasingly easier to access via mobile phone.

iPhone ROCKSTARS!

"Have iPhone, will perform" seems to be the motto of the Brooklyn-based band Atomic Tom with their viral hit, Take me out.

The video shot using camera phone on a subway, utilizes various iPhone apps. The video begins stating that the band's instrument have been stolen and thus they have been reduced to playing using their iPhones...but what a performance.
